This FREE community event serves to raise awareness of the roles of the doula, as well as give a unique opportunity to meet area doulas and other birth/postpartum professionals in a casual and convenient setting.
This event is perfect for soon-to-be parents and their birth partners, as well as anyone hoping to learn about how doulas and educators can support families wanting to have a memorable, safe, and empowering birth and postpartum.
Join us for a fun and informational conversation at the Jones Building, downtown Sioux Falls. (located across from the Levitt Band Shell)
About the Location: The Jones421 has many different restaurants, shops, coffee and taproom options! Grab a meal, something sweet, or something to drink and join us in the community areas.
Look for the South Dakota Doulas sign (and a bunch of really friendly birth workers!).
Can’t make this event? Meet the Doulas is held on the last Thursday of the odd months, at 6:30pm.

Birth & Body Workers Get Togethers
Birth and Body Workers Get Togethers are casual gatherings for peri- and postnatal professionals to meet and socialize!
Join us on February 23rd, June 29th, and October 26th from 5:00-7:30 at JJ’s Wine, Spirits & Cigars in Sioux Falls!
We will be in the lounge where you are welcome to order food, drinks, or just come to hang out with your network.

Birth & Postpartum Doula Training, hosted by South Dakota Doulas
This Professional Doula Training provides hands-on education for providing physical and emotional support to birthing women and their families.
The workshop is over two days and is recommended for those who aspire to be doulas, as well as doulas, nurses, nursing students, lactation counselors, childbirth educators and all other health care professionals.
It will be led by Victoria Wakeman of Childbirth Professionals International, a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and peer lactation counselor.
Class fees are $650 and INCLUDE certification upon completion with no additional packets or fees required with the exception of a small amount of required reading.
Workshop is worth 16 contact hours and will cover education, comfort measures and techniques, as well as, how to run your own doula business.
